Poetry in Wakhi is still in its earlier stage. There are only few historical poetry in Wakhi Language as the people were illiterate so they were unable to record it literally. Ali Aman Gojali was the first from Northern Areas who get space to sing a Wakhi song in Pakistan Television in Music 89 programme. This also worked as a stimuli for younger poets and singer to be serious in this field. However, the poetry of Nazir Ahmed Bulbul give new trend to Wakhi poetry. Today there are many poets in Wakhi language but none of them are of Bulbul's standing.
