  home

The actual history of this shrine is based on different superstitious stories. The shrine is located in Odver at top of Gulmit village. Literally Shohi Chirogh means "the Kingly light" or "The light of the King". It is said that people during night time witnessed lightning across this shrine on the rock. No one is aware about the actual story of Shohi Chirogh, but the people are sure that he was an exalted saint, and that is why they started adoring Chirogh.

The grave was brought in shape of shrine later when people saw this place in dreams with different spiritual connections. People felt fear to repair the grave  but,  Sikandari father of the present Ulfat Shah of Odver along with Ustad Sumbul, the carpenter, took some people and moved the stone of the grave in order to bring it into its original shape. It is said that in the meanwhile, some kind of gas has come up, and the hand of the concerned individual went down and touched a very hot thing. They repaired the grave and constructed it in the form of shrine. The local people respect this shrine and has been a source of reverence and healing for many individuals whoever has creed upon this saint and his spiritual power.
