Transfer of Hunza state capital Altit to Baltit

Fratricidal wars among the brothers for the throne led many time to the deaths of people from ruling families. After Sultan Khan, his 2 sons fought for the throne.  The population under Altit fort supported Ali Khan while the population under Baltit and Ghanish fort supported Shahbaz Khan. Later on Shahbaz Khan murdered his brother Ali Khan and due to loyalty of Altit fort for Ali Khan, he transferred the state capital permanently to Baltit. Hence, Altit village lost its long held standing in the regional affairs.
