Mosque of Ghulom Ali Shah in Gircha

home   The villages of Ghlapan, Murkhun, Jamalabad, Gircha, Sareez and Sost are predominantly inhabited by the descendents of Bobo Sufi. This is only mosque whih was relocasted almost 100 years from its orignal location in the heart of Gircha old settlement. Around 100 years ago Gircha got vanished by flood in Hunza River and this mosque was on the edge of Hunza river. A local man Ghulom Ali Shoh, being one of the progeny of Baba Sufi relocated this from river edge to its existing location. The mosque is small and rectangular in shape (210cmx185cm) and has verandah on eastern and southern sides. Mosque was constructed in cribbage structure with detailed carving on door frames and rotted square on reflected ceiling of Mosque.

This mosque is full of architectural potential; and the front side of the mosque has got very fascinating and meaningful carvings. Along with theses carvings, there are wooden inscriptions as well, which has, of course, great knowledge for the knowledge loving visitors.

AKCSP has restored this mosque in 1999 on request of the locals and now its is used as religious school.
