First Local Teacher

The second matriculate was Mr. Ibadat Shah who passed his matriculation from the Habibia Night School owed by the present Chairman JKLF Aman-ullah Khan. After passing his Matriculation he returned to Gulmit and on the request of the community he started teaching in 1965. Thus he devoted his life and bright future for educating the future generation of the region and became the first local teacher. The school was without any formal building therefore in 1955 the community constructed a new school building with a single room. But with increase in number of students the government for the first time constructed a high school building in 1973.
